CLCC Participant Named Employee of the Month at Tractor Supply Co.
Creative Living Community of Connecticut is pleased to learn a former participant has been named Employee of the Month at her local Tractor Supply Co.
Samantha Boucher learned valuable work skills when joining CLCC for vocational training through her local school and transferred her knowledge into a meaningful work opportunity - in which she has thrived. Ms. Boucher was named the Employee of the Month for January in Vernon.
"My experience volunteering at CLCC has been amazing," said Ms. Boucher.
"Everyone there was extremely friendly and understanding. When I would go to CLCC I would mainly cut microgreens and help package and bag them to be brought to restaurants. It was really fun, and I have learned so much there. I learned how to harvest plants and learned a lot about all different types varying from Spicy to Sweet to even pretty," she continued.
"All that I have learned has helped me with my job at Tractor Supply Company. I am able to help customers more with everything garden related. I can help customers with seeds, soil, and how they would need to plant the seeds, and its all thanks to the amazing experience at CLCC," Ms. Boucher concluded.
"We are extremely proud of all of its participants," said Patrick Byrne, CLCC's Executive Director. "It is experiences such as Ms. Boucher's that inspire us to continue our important work of providing real, transferable job skills. Samantha's hard work is a testament to the mission of CLCC and a tribute to the staff and board that make CLCC stand out in our community."
CLCC strives to provide meaningful and transferable work skills to participants through our greenhouse and farming vocational programs. CLCC has volunteer and seasonal paid opportunities for volunteers of many differing abilities.
